Protest in Bangladesh Bank demanding resignation of two deputy governors


The officials of Bangladesh Bank have called for all-party unity at 2.30 pm to demand the resignation of the two Deputy Governors (DG) Norun Nahar and Habibur Rahman who were appointed on contractual basis during the Awami League government.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. A team of 40 members met Ahsan H. Mansoor and gave an ultimatum for the resignation of these two DGs. Later they called for all-party unity at 2:30 in the afternoon in front of the 30-storey building of Bangladesh Bank.

In an interview with a delegation of officials, the governor told them, 'Be patient. Looking at the matter.' In this regard, they also met with DG Noorun Nahar on two occasions today. However, the details of what happened there are not known.

It is to be noted that earlier, two deputy governors appointed during the Awami League period resigned in the face of agitation.
