No need to submit hard copy after paying VAT online


National Board of Revenue (NBR) has advised everyone to file their returns online instead of filing them on paper.

This information was informed in a notification sent to the media on Tuesday (November 5).

It said, it is for the information of all concerned that the National Board of Revenue has been informed that in any case after submission of online returns, coefficient declaration (coefficient, a statistical term often used to measure two or more values) etc. VAT officer wants hard copy, which is not legal.

According to the notification, hard copies need not be submitted to the VAT office after filing online returns, coefficient declarations etc. Moreover, there is no provision for preservation of submissions, coefficient declarations, treasury challans etc. by the VAT officer.

The notification also said that if you want to submit paper submissions to the local value added tax office (VAT circle office), you have to receive them from the receiving branch of the circle office. Besides, submissions can also be sent by post.
