Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin said, 'Bangladesh is committed to ensuring dispute resolution in providing security and predictability in the multilateral trading system. The transformation of the LDC transition requires capacity building of our business organization and human resources.'
He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the opening session of the 'World Trade Organization National Workshop on Dispute Resolution' at a local hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday (December 3).
Bangladesh is going to pass from LDC in November 2026, which is an important milestone in our economic journey, the trade adviser said. This change will create a lot of opportunities. But this requires capacity building of our business organization and human resources.
He said, as we move forward, Bangladesh will engage in bilateral and multilateral negotiations to establish the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and the Integrated Economic Partnership Agreement. In addition, we will deepen our ties with regional business groups such as the EU, SASEC and ASEAN.
He added that the three-day workshop will enhance participants' understanding of WTO rules and procedures and improve their ability to apply this knowledge in their work.
