In the first 12 days of this month of October, 986 crore 66 lakh 40 thousand (986 million) US dollars remittances have arrived in the country legally. In local currency, the amount is 11 thousand 840 crores (120 rupees per dollar). Daily average remittances are 8 crore 22 lakh 19 thousand dollars.
This information is known from the updated report published by the central bank on Monday (October 14).
According to the review of the data of the Central Bank, in the first 12 days of October, the amount of remittances received in the country was 245.6 million dollars through state-owned banks, 44.8 million dollars through a specialized bank, 693.6 million dollars through private banks and foreign remittances. 26 lakh 40 thousand US dollars came through the banks.
In the first month of the fiscal year 2024-25, remittances to the country reached 1913.77 million dollars in July, 2224.15 million dollars in August and 240.479 million dollars in September.
And in the recently concluded fiscal year 2023-24, foreign currency equivalent to two thousand 392 million US dollars has arrived in the country. This is the second highest remittance collection ever. The highest record remittance in the country's history came in the fiscal year 2020-21 at $2,477 million.
