Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Noorun Nahar has been removed from two sensitive departments. After the redistribution of responsibilities, he got the responsibility of 13 departments. The Human Resources Department of the Central Bank issued this order on November 28.

On November 23, Central Bank officials in front of the governor's office, two deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank-Nurun Nahar and Dr. Protested demanding the resignation of Habibur Rahman. Hundreds of officers and employees staged protests under the banner of all-party unity. The officials also gave their resignation ultimatum. However, the protestors suspended the agitation temporarily when the governor assured to take necessary measures.

A central bank official said, 'Our first demand was the termination and resignation of the corrupt deputy governor Nurun Nahar appointed by the fascist Awami government. In addition, proper investigation and action should be taken regarding the corrupt officials of Bangladesh Bank who are helping to launder thousands of rupees. On that day, the governor agreed with all these demands and assured to implement them. As part of this, on November 28, all policy-making departments and human resource departments were removed from the hands of Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar.

Earlier, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country in the face of the unforgettable coup of students on August 5. Through this, 16 consecutive years of Awami League's unprecedented misrule and arbitrariness came to an end. After that, protests started one by one demanding the resignation of the corrupt and party quota appointees in various government institutions. Bangladesh Bank, the regulator of the banking sector, is not left out.

Four deputy governors of the bank decided to resign in the face of protests. They are Kazi Saidur Rahman, Khurshid Alam, Habibur Rahman and Nurun Nahar. Later, according to the decision of the Ministry of Finance, Habibur Rahman and Nurun Nahar rejoined Bangladesh Bank as Deputy Governors. Kazi Saidur Rahman, Khurshid Alam were officially dropped. And four days after the fall of the government, Abdur Rauf Talukder, the governor of the bank, resigned.
