The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered the freezing of the bank accounts of Ekatar TV's former managing director Mozammel Haque Babu, his wife Aparajita Haque and their daughter Shababa Ishaat Haque. At the same time, the bank accounts of them and their privately owned institutions have been asked to be suspended for the next 30 days.
This order was given in a letter regarding Monday (October 14).
According to the instructions, the information or documents relating to the accounts which have been suspended should be sent to the BFIU within two working days from the date of issue of the letter.
It is to be noted that Mozammel Haque Babu was arrested from Mymensingh's Dhobaura border while fleeing to India on September 16. Later he was arrested and remanded in two murder cases.
