After being closed for more than a year, the government is going to open the opportunity for export of aromatic rice.
A preliminary decision was taken on the start of the export of fragrant rice at a meeting of the Food Plan and Observation Committee of the Food Ministry on January 22. This time, however, the government will set up the amount of rice and minimum price during the export.
A five -member committee has been formed in this regard, led by Ziauddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Food. This committee will submit the report by determining the amount of perfume rice production, internal demand and export capacity of the country. According to the report, the Ministry of Commerce will allow the export of fragrant rice and the minimum price. Traders are hoping that it will increase the export of aromatic rice and will play a significant role in the export of agricultural commodities.
