Arab FinanceAlaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, met with Ambassador Berik Aren, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), and discussed with him the prospects for joint cooperation between the ministry and the organization during the coming period, according to statement cabinet.
The efforts of the Egyptian state to achieve food security were reviewed in light of the global challenges that affected food supply chains in the world. The Minister stressed during the meeting Egypt’s readiness to provide all aspects of support to the organization until it achieves its goals, as well as contributing to providing expertise and building capabilities to member states.
For his part, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security discussed the initiatives adopted by the organization that aim to confront the challenges of food security in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), pointing out the importance of benefiting from the great Egyptian experience in the field of agriculture and food security.
It is worth noting that Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, is currently participating in the World Summit on Food Security, held in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi. Yesterday, he delivered Egypt’s speech before the opening session of the summit. He also participated in the ministerial dialogue session chaired by the Emirati Minister of Climate Change.
