Arab Finance: Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, met with Tomoho Umeda, founder and CEO of the Polish company HINFRAA, and engineer Hussein El-Ghazawy, executive partner of the Polish HINFRAA company in Egypt, to discuss establishing a production plant. Tomoho Umeda announced that Henfra Company plans to establish five factories to supply the regions of Eastern and Central Europe with their needs for green ammonia. The company has chosen Egypt to receive one of the factories with an initial production capacity of 100 thousand tons of green ammonia annually after completing the construction of the first phase of the factory by the year 2030. Taking into account the possibility of increasing production to reach a total of about one million tons annually of green ammonia.

He added that the company will rely on renewable energy sources available in Egypt, such as solar and wind energy, to provide the needs of its factory, so that the production of green ammonia will be completely dependent on clean energy, provided that the minimum daily production capacity of the power generation stations that the company will establish is sufficient to provide its needs for the production of green ammonia. This means that the company will supply the Egyptian National Electricity Grid with its surplus electricity production most days of the year, to support the Egyptian government’s efforts to increase reliance on renewable energy. The company will also transfer its technical expertise to the Egyptian market in the green hydrogen production sectors. Green ammonia, creating renewable energy storage systems, electrolysis and water desalination technologies.

The company seeks to produce green hydrogen through the electrolysis of water, then produce green ammonia through the reaction of green hydrogen and nitrogen at high temperatures, and all of these processes are carried out using renewable energy sources.
