Arab Finance: The Green Climate Fund has agreed to finance three multi-country sustainable development programmes. The Fund will provide new financing worth about $2.7 billion to implement the three programs in 14 countries, including Egypt, according to For a statement To the Ministry of Environment.
The new financing is distributed at approximately $1.3 billion for the Greening of Financial Systems program, which includes 14 countries in Asia and Africa. This financing will help participating countries access green financial products and grant technical support.
As well as $1.3 billion for the Resilient Water Infrastructure Expansion Facility program, which is implemented in 14 countries, and provides funds for projects to develop more resilient water infrastructure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with water and wastewater infrastructure.
It also allocates $130 million to the Smart Resilient Agriculture Investment Fund program, which covers 10 African countries. The project aims to provide smallholder farmers with a combination of resilient, climate-smart solutions such as access to financing that will enable them to make continuous improvements to their farmland, invest in their productive capabilities, and obtain innovative insurance tools.
