Minister of Petroleum: 12 million tons annually of natural gas export capacities

Arab Finance: Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, said that Egypt has Export energy from natural gas It amounts to 12 million tons annually.

Badawi pointed out, on the sidelines of the activities of the 40th session of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), that Egypt has a refining capacity of 40 million tons, in addition to the presence of more than 10 petrochemical complexes.

The minister said that given the current situation in Egypt, the government's goal is to strengthen the country's position to unlock the potential of gas reserves in the Mediterranean region.

He noted that the country also aims to provide facilities to boost exports and generate benefits in other markets, including Europe and the West.

Badawi added that the government also seeks to provide raw materials for the petrochemical industry to achieve added value.

He pointed out that 60% of the country's gas production is directed to generating electricity.
