Arab FinanceDr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held: A meeting; To follow up on efforts to provide goods and control markets, in the presence of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Engineer Mustafa Al-Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the government’s interest in monitoring the availability of all goods in markets across the Republic, as well as continuing work on monitoring markets and intensifying campaigns that would contribute to controlling market movement and achieving a balance in prices.

The Prime Minister reiterated the need to increase efforts to eliminate intermediary links, in a way that contributes to the arrival of goods to citizens at reasonable prices, pointing in this regard to the importance of expanding the establishment of more outlets and exhibitions for selling goods at the republic level, in addition to mobile outlets, to reach the goods. For citizens in various regions of the Republic.

Regarding the problem of high prices for table eggs, the Minister of Local Development pointed to the efforts to deal with it, and what is being done to control their prices, explaining in this regard that the number of farms operating across the Republic reaches 2,567 farms with a production capacity approaching 14 billion eggs per year, noting that Also to the farms that are not operating, whether governmental or affiliated with the private sector. She also explained the coordination being done with the Ministry of Agriculture regarding offering stalled farms and egg production lines to the private sector to restart them.

During the meeting, the Minister of Local Development addressed the position of table egg farms across the Republic, what each governorate includes of these farms, and the size of the production capacity of farms that are operating at full capacity, or that are operating at about 60% of their capacity, as well as an inventory of what is stopped inside. Every governorate.

In this regard, the Prime Minister directed to quickly meet with the owners of farms that have stopped production, discuss their problems, and work to solve them, in a way that contributes to increasing production and the availability of table eggs in the markets.

During the meeting, the Minister of Supply confirmed that the Ministry is working to balance prices for various strategic commodities, pointing in this regard to the Ministry’s recent movements regarding the provision of table eggs, and what has been made available of this commodity from abroad, in a way that contributes to achieving a balance in the prices of this commodity. He added: This solution is considered an urgent solution, while many sustainable measures are being taken to solve the problem of increasing the prices of this strategic commodity, adding: We are working to reduce the intermediate links between the farmer and the citizen, to make many commodities available, by increasing the outlets designated for selling various commodities.
