Arab Finance: In a move that reflects a clear commitment to the future of the Egyptian economy, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) organized a leading forum for digital transformation, in the presence of senior government officials, private sector leaders, and a number of the most prominent industrial experts. This high -level event, which was held in Cairo, confirms the national efforts to empower the Egyptian industrial sector by adopting the latest technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, according to the statement sent on May 5.
The forum witnessed the participation of prominent representatives of a number of pivotal institutions, including the ITION Development Authority (ITIDA), Industry Update Center (IMC), the Information and Communications Technology Industry Chamber (CIT), Cairo Bank (BDC), and the Egyptian Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-Just), along with industry leaders such as Integration International Administrative Consulting, the Egyptian Society for Manufacturing Technology Services (Egyptt4INDUSTRY), and the Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Company (EIPICO), who interacted with manufacturers from major industrial areas that include 6th of October, Sadat, Beni Suef, Burj Al Arab and Fayoum.
This strategic diversity in experiences came with the aim of bridging the gap between the needs of the industry and the opportunities offered by advanced technologies, which directly contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of local manufacturers and accelerating the process of localizing industries.
The event collected more than 70 effective and influential entities, to form a dynamic platform for enhancing awareness, reviewing practical applications for the fourth industrial revolution techniques, and building important work links between manufacturers, supportive institutions and technological services providers.
For his part, Sameh Hammad, director of the component of the industrial areas and blocs of the project of work partnerships and support for small and medium-sized companies (JP-Sme) of the German Agency for International Cooperation, stressed the importance of this initiative, saying: “In light of Egypt's endeavor to raise the contribution of the telecommunications and information technology sector to 8% of the gross domestic product by 2030, the digital transformation is no longer an option, but rather the necessity. By adopting the techniques of the fourth industrial revolution in various sectors, we are at the German Agency for International Cooperation, proud to support this trend.
This forum embodies our commitment to enabling local manufacturers with the tools and knowledge necessary to compete in the era of smart manufacturing, and to advance the sustainable industrial growth based on innovation. “
In turn, Marcus Antonius Kassel, head of the INTeGration team for international administrative consultations, said: “Egypt has an ambitious vision to raise the contribution of the current industrial sector to the local product from 14% to between 20% and 30%.
This vision is fully in line with the experience of Integration in the emerging markets, which has proven effective through our two -year partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation in the project of developing industrial blocs, which has proven its ability to push innovation, and we are committed to building on the achievements made to enhance the flexibility of the Egyptian industry more. “
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Saeed, the founding partner and member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Society for Manufacturing Technology (Egypt4INDUSTRY), affirmed the commitment of the association, saying: “Egypt4industry pays great attention to developing the industrial sector in Egypt, and we are working to achieve this by providing specialized consulting services that enable factories and industrial areas to benefit from the strategic solutions from digital solutions, which leads to improvements Tangier in productivity, sustainability and the ability to adapt. This forum is a milestone in Egypt's ambitious journey towards a digital industrial future. By enhancing cooperation between manufacturers, technological innovators and major institutional partners, the German Agency for International Cooperation and its partners contribute to building a solid base for a more intelligent, flexible and competitive industrial system. This comes in light of huge investments that Egypt allocated to digital infrastructure, amounting to about $ 1.6 billion.
