Arab Finance: Data showed The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics In Egypt, today, Wednesday, consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities reached 26.4% on an annual basis in September, compared to 26.2% in August.
Inflation rose on a monthly basis in August as a result of a 10-15% increase in fuel prices near the end of July, a 25-33% increase in metro tickets at the beginning of August, and a 21-31% increase in electricity costs that occurred partly in August.
Analysts had expected that inflation in Egypt would decline again in September after a government-approved increase in prices led to an unexpected rise in August.
