During its plenary session yesterday, Tuesday, the House of Representatives approved the report of the Economic Committee regarding the fourth amendment to the “Aid Grant for Comprehensive Economic Governance” agreement between Egypt and the United States of America, adding an amount of $13.5 million to the agreement, bringing the total contribution of the American side to $109.96 million instead of $96.5 million. Under the agreement, the Ministries of International Cooperation, Justice and Social Solidarity, Planning and Economic Development, and the National Council for Women are the implementing agencies of the agreement.
The agreement also aims to enhance comprehensive economic governance activities in Egypt to make them more effective and sustainable, support economically and socially marginalized groups, and expand the circle of women’s participation in the Egyptian economy.
