Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Ramis Sen met with the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government. On Monday (October 14) at the Chief Adviser's office in Tejgaon, the two countries discussed trade, economy and defense assistance as well as the Rohingya crisis. Besides, student exchange between the two Muslim-majority countries was also discussed.
Dr. during the meeting. Muhammad Yunus praised the country's continued support for the Rohingya refugees, including Turkey's humanitarian assistance in the recent floods in Bangladesh, and the Turkish delegation's visit to boost trade and business ties between the two countries.
At this time Dr. Yunus invited Turkish investment in Bangladesh. He said, 'Dhaka is now ready for business. Both countries should seek the full potential of their relationship.' He invited the President of Turkey and the First Lady to visit Bangladesh through the ambassador.
The ambassador of Turkey thanked Bangladesh for expressing solidarity with Bangladesh in last year's terrible earthquake in the country and gifting 10,000 tents to help the victims. The ambassador also invited Bangladesh to attend the upcoming World Halal Summit and Ministerial Meeting in Istanbul.
Pointing out that Turkey wants to deepen trade and economic relations with Bangladesh, Ramis Sen said, “A Turkish government delegation is now visiting Bangladesh with the aim of creating new business opportunities and assisting the reform initiatives of the interim government.”
He said, 'Another Turkish delegation visited Bangladesh due to the recent floods in Bangladesh. They provide humanitarian assistance to flood victims in Feni, Noakhali, Laxmipur and Comilla.'
Stating that there is a huge opportunity to increase exports from the two countries, the Turkish ambassador said, 'Bilateral trade between the two countries now stands at 1.1 billion dollars. The ambassador emphasized the visit of a high-level business delegation to Türkiye to engage with Turkish businessmen and officials.
He also said that the Minister of Commerce of Turkey will visit Bangladesh in December this year.
