A project of Tk 1 crore for diversifying jute products


The government has undertaken special training projects for women entrepreneurs. The cost of 'specialized training for the diversification of jute products through the development of the skills of women entrepreneurs' under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs' has been estimated at Tk. The project will run from January 2021 to December 2021. The Planning Commission has already approved the project and has directed the development project proposal (DPP) to be restructured.

The government is emphasizing the use of environmentally friendly jute products to reduce the use of polythene. For this purpose, Bangladesh Bank has given special benefits for repaying arrears of jute industry. Initiatives have been taken to expand the domestic and international market by enhancing the efficiency of women entrepreneurs to promote jute and jute products. Training initiatives are being taken for women entrepreneurs to increase the export of jute products. Because many women in the country are trying to change their fate by doing business of jute and jute products. Initiatives have been taken to enhance the skills of women entrepreneurs in this sector to increase jute marketing markets in the domestic and international markets.

The Department of Women's Affairs will implement the project. The government will finance the project. Mymensingh, Sirajganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Barisal, Narsingdi, Faridpur, Comilla, Sylhet and Rajshahi districts will be given international quality training. 1 trainees will participate in each district. For this purpose, 5 training centers will be set up in the project area.

Through the project, women will be created as an international quality entrepreneur through specialized training for jute. The use of eco -friendly jute products will be encouraged by the benefit of production and marketing of multipurpose jute products.

This project will play an important role in enhancing women's economic empowerment, creating new employment and promoting environmentally friendly products. Trained women entrepreneurs will be able to highlight their jute products in the domestic and international markets, which will bring about positive changes to the economy.
