A few days ago, when Team India was announced for the three Test matches, everyone was surprised when the name of one batsman was not there. This batsman is Abhimanyu Easwaran. Abhimanyu Easwaran, who was a part of the Indian team on the tour of Bangladesh, England and South Africa, said in an exclusive conversation with News 18 India that he would like to remain silent on the issue of selection but his bat will keep talking.

Debut in Australia as Gill and Pant want to do

Abhimanyu, who was constantly being neglected by the selectors, scored 979 runs at an average of 122 in the seven first-class matches played this year. Abhimanyu himself also believes that the year 2024 is going to be the best year of his career and he is hoping that if he gets a chance on the Australia tour, he would like to cement his place in the team by performing like Shubman Gill and Pant.

Shot selection and sweep shot are the main weapons

Abhimanyu gives credit for his success this year to his hard work. After two and a half months of rehab in NDA after hamstring injury, Abhimanyu did a lot of work on shot selection and strike rate in his batting this year.. Mention of innings played in Irani Trophy. While doing this, Abhimanyu Easwaran said that now he understands the demands of today and said that he sweated a lot to play sweep and back foot against spin, which is benefiting him.

I watch Virat Rohit's videos

Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has toured England under Virat's captaincy and South Africa under Rohit's captaincy, said that apart from being great players, both are great captains and he learned a lot during the nets session with them, which will benefit him in India A matches. found in

It is difficult for Bumrah to play even in the nets

In an exclusive conversation with News 18 India, Abhimanyu Easwaran admitted that it is very difficult for Jasprit Bumrah to play during the practice session of the Indian team. Recently, Bumrah is swinging the ball in both directions with a single action, which is very difficult to catch. One specialty of Bumrah is that he bowls in the nets with the same intensity with which he attacks the batsmen in the match.

Bengal is the stronghold of pace bowlers, Akash is the horse of the long race.

In the last few years, Bengal has given many fast bowlers to India and the interesting thing is that four fast bowlers Ashok Dinda, Mohammed Shami, Mukesh Kumar and Akashdeep, who recently became a part of Team India, all played for Bengal under the captaincy of Abhimanyu Easwaran. Played. Akash Deep, who has been performing well for Team India recently, considers Easwaran to be a long-haul horse and considers attacking the wicket continuously as his strength.

Will focus on the ball and not the bowler on Australia tour

While talking about the Australia tour, Abhimanyu Easwaran said that he will not only work on the balls leaving the hands of Pant Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Hazel Wood and Nathan Lyon, but the height of the bowler does not matter much to him. Abhimanyu Easwaran is confident that he will be successful in making his debut on the Australia tour and will try his best to leave a big impact on world cricket.

Indian Railways has changed the rules of advance ticket booking. Earlier ticket booking used to start 120 days before the journey, now it has been reduced to 60 days. The new decision will come into effect from November 1, 2024. TOI has given this information in its report.

However, the new rules for advance train ticket booking will not have any impact on already booked tickets. Currently, ticket booking is done through IRCTC website, app and railway booking counters. Every day 12.38 lakh tickets are booked through IRCTC.

Railways had extended the advance reservation period in 2015.

As of April 1, 2015, the advance reservation period was 60 days. The government had then argued that extending the booking period to 120 days would discourage brokers as they would have to pay higher cancellation charges.

However, many had then argued that the Railways' objective in extending the reservation period was to earn additional revenue through higher number of cancellations along with interest for an additional 60 days.

IRCTC's earnings will reduce due to interest and cancellation.

Due to reduction in advance reservation period, IRCTC's earnings from interest and cancellation will reduce. Its effect is also visible on its stock. The company's shares are trading about 2% down at Rs 875. The stock has fallen 6% in a month.

1st Time In 91 Years: India Register Embarrassing Test Record vs New Zealand

0

Matt Henry and William O’Rourke picked nine wickets collectively to bowl out India for just 46 on day two of first Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. With this, India have now recorded their lowest total at home and third lowest Test score overall. This was the first time in 91 years (since India’s first home Test in 1931) that they scored less than 50 in an innings. Under overcast condition, Henry exhibited great control on line and length to pick 5-15 and also reached the landmark of 100 Test wickets. O’Rourke, playing in his first Test in India, made a fantastic impression with his awkward bounce and mixing of lengths to pick 4-22 while veteran pacer Tim Southee took a scalp.

For India, right from them electing to bat first amidst downpour threats, things backfired spectacularly. With no grass on the pitch, they picked three spinners for the first time in this season, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj being the only pacers.

But with conditions heavily favouring an accurate New Zealand bowling line-up and backed up brilliantly by their fielders, India didn’t show the desired batting application to grind it out against swing or seam and fell without doing much. Only Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) reached double figures in a sorry Indian batting show laced with five ducks.

Captain Rohit Sharma was far from his fluent best and even survived an lbw appeal on umpire’s call off Matt Henry. But in a bid to step out against a masterly Tim Southee, Rohit was castled through the gate while going for a big drive against the inswinger.

Virat Kohli’s surprising promotion to number three, after Shubman Gill was ruled out due to neck stiffness, earned him vociferous chants from the sparse crowd at his adopted home ground.

But it was brought to a quick end when O’Rourke got extra bounce on a nip-backer which Kohli looked to defend, but it took the glove edge to forward leaping Glenn Phillips at leg-gully, as he departed for a nine-ball duck.

More trouble followed India as Sarfaraz Khan tried to counterattack with a forceful lofted drive, but ended up mis-hitting off Henry to Devon Conway at mid-off, who stuck out his right hand and took a stunning catch. Pant was a curious mix of caution and aggressiveness, including trying to reverse-sweep off Henry, before rain brought a halt to the proceedings.

After play resumed at 11:05am, Pant and Jaiswal got a boundary each to try and rebuild India’s innings. But O’Rourke struck again as Jaiswal went hard on the cut and was caught brilliantly by backward point diving low to his left.

One brought two for the pacer as he strangled KL Rahul, supposed to bat at three, down leg for a six-ball duck, and was followed by Ravindra Jadeja being bizarrely too early into the flick and gave a high leading edge to backward point off Henry as New Zealand walked off the field as the happier side at lunch.

Post lunch, Henry struck on the very first ball by catching shoulder edge of Ravichandran Ashwin and the ball lobbed to gully. He then enticed Pant into tentative defence and edged to second slip. O’Rourke had Bumrah heaving to long leg, before Henry ended the Indian batting horror show by having Kuldeep Yadav caught at gully to cap off a brilliant time for New Zealand with the red cherry.
