Apparel exporters' body AEPC has sought tax incentives such as uniformity in GST and increased interest subsidy to promote domestic manufacturing and outbound shipments from India. AEPC has requested to provide tax subsidy to apparel manufacturers adopting environmental, social and corporate governance, international quality standards and compliance. The council has also sought budgetary support for branding and marketing of products made in India. Let us tell you that on February 1, the Finance Minister will present the interim budget in the Lok Sabha.

The council said the interest rates under the Interest Equalization Scheme on pre- and post-shipment export credit for non-MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) manufacturer exporters have been reduced from 3 to 2 per cent. High cost of capital has been a major hurdle for exporters. AEPC has requested the government to increase the rates under the scheme by 5 per cent for all apparel exporters. This, he said, will increase the competitiveness of the apparel industry.

With regard to Goods and Services Tax i.e. GST, it states that a flat tax of only 5 per cent should be imposed on the entire MMF (man-made fibre) value chain (fibre, yarn and textile). Currently the MMF GST rate on fiber is 18 percent, yarn is 12 percent and fabric is 5 percent, resulting in input credit and liquidity issues for MSME units.

To maintain their brand image in the global market, foreign buyers emphasize on maintaining consistency and quality and avoiding the use of counterfeit products. Any deficiency in specification and quality leads to rejection of the shipment.

Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar is alive, has good contacts with Qatar; Big claim in the report

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is alive and has quietly established contacts with Qatar. The claim has been made in the report of Israeli media outlet The Jerusalem Post. This news has come at a time when Israel is continuing its investigation into Sinwar's possible death. It was believed that Sinwar was killed in a rocket strike on a school shelter in Gaza. However, a senior Qatari official rejected the media report's claim that the Hamas leader had made direct contact. He said that contact was made through senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayyah.

Israel launched a massive airstrike on Gaza on September 21. It was believed that Sinwar died because he did not contact the official channels for a long time. The Israeli army maintained that it targeted the Hamas command center in its air strike. However, Palestinian health officials have been claiming that 22 people, including women and children, died in this attack. Later media reports said that Israeli officials themselves are investigating whether Sinwar has been killed or not.

Mastermind of October 7 attack

Sinwar was the mastermind behind the attack by Hamas fighters who entered Israel on October 7 last year. Sinwar was made Hamas chief in August this year, after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Iran. Born in 1962, Sinwar is considered one of the earliest members of Hamas, which was formed in 1987. He took charge of the security wing of this terrorist group, whose job is to protect the organization from Israeli spies.

Meanwhile, Hamas' chief negotiator and deputy Gaza chief Khalil al-Hayya has given a big statement. He said that a year after the bombing of Gaza began and despite Hamas's flexibility, Israel is still blocking the ceasefire agreement. “We can say with full confidence that the issue of Palestine has become a major topic in the world,” al-Hayya said in a speech shown on Hamas' Aqsa television. “All sides now realize that there can be no security and stability in the region unless our people are fully empowered.”

Update on Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan may snatch hosting of some matches, India's matches will be shifted out – report

0

New Delhi. There is doubt whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy next year or not. Meanwhile, a report has revealed that Pakistan may lose hosting of some matches of the tournament. The matches of the Indian team can be held in some other country. If India reaches the final then it can also be held outside Pakistan.

According to a report by Telegraph UK, India's Champions Trophy 2025 matches can be held outside Pakistan. If the Indian team succeeds in making it to the finals, it will also be thrown out. This decision can be taken due to the ongoing political tension between the two countries. According to reports, the final of Champions Trophy 2025 can be shifted from Lahore to Dubai. The final of the tournament is to be played on March 9. The decision on the venue of this match can be taken by March 6. There remains uncertainty about where the semi-finals will be held. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are being considered as possible locations.

India has not toured Pakistan since July 2008, a result of strained political relations between the two countries. This ongoing tension has raised the question whether India will be able to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had recently said that the ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan. He also said that all the teams, including India, will participate in the tournament. “The Indian team should come. I don't think they will cancel or postpone coming here. We are confident that we will host all the teams in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The stadiums will also be ready to host the matches on time and the remaining work will be completed after the tournament.”

Indian government reviewed more than 400 visa applications of Bangladeshi people in August

India has now restricted visas for Bangladeshis. In August, new rules for issuing visas to Bangladeshis were introduced soon after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. Now India is giving 'Student Visa' on emergency basis without 'Medical Visa'. However, India's home ministry reviewed more than 400 visa applications from Bangladeshis in August. India has made some changes to its visa rules since the unrest surrounding student protests in Bangladesh in July. As a result of that movement, Hasina's government collapsed in August. Until the situation in Bangladesh normalizes, visas will be issued on a limited basis, India said.

The Union Home Ministry has reportedly reviewed more than 400 visa applications from Bangladesh in certain categories in August. It should be noted that on August 5, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and moved to India. Then Bangladesh witnessed massive political changes. For the past two months, Indian visa application centers in Bangladesh have been issuing a limited number of visas for students and for emergency medical purposes.

Officials said that most foreigners come to India from Bangladesh. An official said that visas were issued to around 16 lakh Bangladeshi citizens last year.

According to a report by The Hindu, a Home Ministry official said 434 Prior Referral Check (PRC) cases of Bangladeshi nationals were 'cleared' in August. There were 878 such incidents in Pakistan during that month. Incidentally, PRC refers to background checks of applicants by intelligence and security agencies before issuing visas in certain cases. However, it is not known how many people have been given visas during this period.

Note that India gives 15 categories of visas to Bangladesh. This includes 'emergency services'. Officials said the revised travel regime was signed in 2013 to issue visas to Bangladeshi nationals. Now visas are issued according to that policy. Holders of diplomatic and official passports can stay up to 45 days without any visa.

Countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Sudan are placed under the PRC. However, there are specific visas for certain countries like China and Bangladesh. They have to go through an extra layer of protection.

It is alleged that many people are making Aadhaar card with fake documents after coming to India from Bangladesh. Along with the complaint, many undocumented immigrants are creating various other fake documents for permanent residence. The Border Security Force (BSF) has appealed to the Center to stop undocumented migrants from generating Aadhaar cards. BSF is also writing to the authorities to deactivate the Aadhaar registration of undocumented migrants. It is known that a suspect was caught a few days ago. After this letter is given by the Indian Border Guard. This is the first time that the BSF is writing to the authorities to cancel the Aadhaar cards of suspected Bangladeshi nationals. The BSF is writing to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to deactivate the Aadhaar registration of those caught at the border or undocumented migrants.

According to a report in The Hindu, a Bangladeshi national was arrested from Chennai in May this year. He was living there for the last 9 years. A BSF official said the man was trying to leave the country. He was caught at that time. The official said, 'We got an Aadhaar card from him. After informing the police, we have written to UIDAI to deactivate the card.' This is being done to break the relationship between human traffickers and brokers, he said.

According to the report, the Union Home Ministry submitted an affidavit in the Jharkhand High Court this month.
