Amid reports of fertilizer shortage in various districts of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed to make a special system to stop black marketing and hoarding of fertiliser. A spokesperson of the state government said here that the Chief Minister held a high level meeting regarding the availability of fertilizers in the state. During this, he directed to make a special arrangement to monitor the fertilizer distribution process. Adityanath said that a team of officers should be formed at the district level, which would monitor the distribution process and submit reports regularly.
Through this system, it will be ensured that there is no black marketing or hoarding of fertilizer. He cautioned that strict action will be taken against those found guilty in such cases. The Chief Minister stressed that all possible steps should be taken to provide adequate quantity of fertilizers to the farmers in the state. Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department, Principal Secretary of Cooperative Department and other senior officers were present in the meeting. The Chief Minister asked the officials to establish effective coordination with the Central Government and ensure supply of fertilizer as per the need.
He said that discipline should be maintained at the distribution centers and any kind of chaos should be avoided. Along with this, a transparent process should be adopted while protecting the interests of the farmers. Adityanath directed the officials to ensure that the fertilizer available from the private sector should be delivered to the farmers through cooperative societies and other government channels. He clarified that it is necessary to deliver the fertilizers received from private companies to the farmers at a reasonable price, so that there is no hindrance in farming.
