Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav laid the foundation stone of a new 'assembly line' of laptops at the Tamil Nadu unit of electronic systems design and manufacturing company Sirma SGS Technology Limited. Sirma SGS has partnered with AI-powered personal computer manufacturer MSI to manufacture laptops at its state-of-the-art facility in Chennai. According to a statement, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Vaishnav, after laying the foundation stone of the new assembly line for laptop production, said that this is a milestone in the Make in India initiative.
He appreciated the efforts of Sirma SGS in developing the electronics manufacturing ecosystem and highlighted the important role of such initiatives in building a self-reliant India. Satendra Singh, CEO, Sirma SGS Technology Limited, said, this collaboration not only boosts our IT hardware manufacturing.
It also underlines our ability to deliver high quality innovative solutions that meet the standards of a global giant like MSI. According to the statement, Serma SGS serves more than 270 customers in 20 countries. In the financial year 2023-24, the company had earned a consolidated revenue of about Rs 3,212 crore.
