However, sowing of oilseeds has declined to 80.55 lakh hectares as compared to last year's 84.85 lakh hectares. The area under rapeseed-mustard has decreased from earlier 84.85 lakh hectares to 75.86 lakh hectares, while the area under groundnut has decreased from earlier 2.11 lakh hectares to 1.97 lakh hectares.
