Amid strong trends in global markets, Sensex and Nifty registered a rise in early trade on Monday. BSE Sensex rose 218.44 points to 85,450.36 in early trade and NSE Nifty rose 69.4 points to 26,137.55.
Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank and Maruti were the most profitable. Whereas shares of Bharat Electronics, Eternal, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles remained in loss.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in profit while China’s SSE Composite was in loss. American markets closed with gains on Friday.
International standard Brent crude fell 0.10 percent to $ 62.50 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were sellers on Friday and sold shares worth a net Rs 1,766.05 crore. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,161.61 crore.
