During the meeting, farmers informed the Chief Minister about the moisture reduction being done during paddy procurement.
On this, the Chief Minister gave clear instructions that the interest of the farmers is paramount for the state government and the officials should ensure that the farmers do not have to face the problem of cuts. He said that the concerned authorities should ensure that the procurement agencies in the mandis buy each grain of paddy with moisture content up to 17 percent at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Saini said that the state government is providing all kinds of facilities for the purchase of farmers' produce in the mandis, so that the procurement process can run smoothly.
