Ahmedabad . Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched a scheme for procurement of soybean, urad and moong at minimum support price (MSP) during a function in Sabarkantha district. Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS), procurement will be done for 90 days at more than 160 centers to ensure fair prices for farmers' produce, an official statement said. More than 3.70 lakh farmers have registered for this scheme.
Addressing the program at Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha, Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been a strong supporter of farmers and has started many welfare schemes aimed at their prosperity. According to the statement, on this occasion, Patel mentioned the Prime Minister's vision that with adequate water, electricity, fertilizers and fair crop prices, farmers can end hunger across the world. Patel said that Prime Minister Modi is promoting natural farming and has asked farmers to adopt natural methods to save water, conserve soil and protect crops from diseases.
