Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) has got a big success, in which on Sunday, Gorakhpur unit broke the international drug smuggling network and arrested 635.5 kg of ganja and five smugglers. This network used to bring ganja from Nepal and supply it in eastern UP and Bihar. The value of the seized ganja in the international market is Rs 1.5 crore. STF has also recovered a truck and Scorpio vehicle from them.
The smugglers had hidden it in the cavity above the cabin of the Ganga truck, so that no one could catch it easily. According to STF, this is the biggest action against drugs so far, this will definitely break the back of drug smugglers.
There was information about supply in Deoria
According to Deputy SP STF Dharmesh Kumar Shahi, after receiving the information, Gorakhpur team and NCB were alerted. Inspector Satyaprakash Singh’s team caught them during checking on Gorakhpur Deoria Road. These people had kept two bundles of bodies in scarps. A case has been registered against the five in NDPS and action is being taken.
Names of arrested accused and recovered items
The accused in STF custody include Jitendra Yadav, East Champaran Bihar, Navraj Shrestha, Veerganj Nepal, Raju Yadav, East Champaran Bihar, Sunil Kumar Rai, West Champaran Bihar and Rajan Tiwari West Champaran Bihar.
635.5 kg ganja hidden in 41 bundles, a container truck, Scorpio vehicle, fake number plates, seven mobile phones and cash have also been recovered from them.
Bullying is going on from Nepal
During interrogation, the accused told that the loading of this ganja was done from Mughaling of Nepal. Its leaders are Achhelal Yadav and Jitendra Yadav of Nepal and both have been running the network for a long time. This ganja was to be supplied to Siwan and Hajipur in Bihar after crossing the Sonauli border. Not only this, the accused confessed that they have been smuggling ganja through Nepal-Bihar-UP route for many years.
