Jahidul Islam, the former secretary general of the organization, has been elected as the new president of the student camp. He was elected president for the 2025 session by the votes of the members across the country. The conference was held on Tuesday (December 31) at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
Meanwhile, Nurul Islam Saddam has been nominated as the secretary general of the organization.
Former leader of the student camp Ataur Rahman Sarkar said that the central member conference of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir started on Tuesday morning. At 8:50 in the morning, the father of Shaheed Ali Raihan announced the opening of the conference. At this time, some other family members of the martyrs were present on the stage.
After 13 long years, this conference was held openly in Suhrawardy Udyan of the capital. Seven thousand sworn members of the party from all over the country and various professional leaders, top leaders of Jamaat and invited guests of various parties attended the conference.
The organization's last member conference was held on December 31, 2010 at the China Friendship Conference Center. The central president was Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim and the Secretary General was Advocate Shishir Monir.
According to Chhatra Shibir, the journey of the organization started on February 6, 1977 from the central Jame Masjid of Dhaka University.
