BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the people are being skeptical, which will not bring good, in the current context. In this situation, he urged the interim government to announce the roadmap of the election immediately to free the nation.
He made the call after a meeting of Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) with BNP at the party's chairperson's office in Gulshan on Sunday afternoon.
Calling the election as the carrier of democracy, Amir Khasru said, “The suspicion that is being raised among the people because of the roadmap of the elections, the question that arises is for the democratic process, it will not bring anything good for the next day.” As soon as possible, the roadmap of the elections has to be assured that the nation is moving towards democracy, the nation is going back to democracy. '
On the renovation initiative, the BNP leader said, “We are not going to do the best in Bangladesh. Everyone who has to agree, those who think about it, is a thought. Different thoughts, philosophy, different groups will be different. The point is, where there is a consensus, there is no chance of reform. If you do anything beyond that, you have to do it through the democratic system. People have to bring mandate through elections. '
He said, 'The question is why the issues that have been agreed are not being highlighted to the nation, that is the question. Already everyone has expressed their opinion. A lot of time has gone. The discussion is over. It doesn't take more than a week. The nation knows where the consensus has been. On the basis of that consensus, we signed the certificate and proceed to the elections, very easy. There is no chance of going beyond it. '
Amir Khasru said the country's investment is also a lot due to the elections. He said, 'Investors who are coming to Bangladesh, all of them are a question – when will the election be? Everyone wants to know when the election will be. After the elections, they will decide that investors inside the country, investor outside the country are waiting for the elections. '
Referring to the initiative of the BNP discussion with the parties, Amir Khasru said, “The current political context of Bangladesh is being discussed. There is a process of implementing the effort to restore the democratic system through elections naturally, we are talking to each other. We are with everyone as part of being tolerant of each other, respecting different views. Everyone is giving an opinion. We have been able to do that for so many years. '
BJP chairman Andalib Rahman Perth praised the BNP's initiative, “Thanks to the BNP for taking such an initiative. We all realize that there has been no election in Bangladesh in the last 3-5 years. The people of the country could not vote since 25. Human aspirations will solve their problems through elected public representatives. The people of Bangladesh are looking for an election. '
“We believe that this government is our government and this government is the government of our movement,” he said. This government is a government of the people but is not elected by the people's vote. We were always with this government, we will be in the future. '
Regarding elections and reforms, Perth said, “We all want reforms. But if elections are followed in the name of reform, the country goes to uncertainty … the government cannot push the country towards such uncertainty. The roadmap of the election must be precise. '
“We do not want this government to fail,” he said. We want people to reflect the will of the people. In the name of any reform so that there is no time. So that there is uncertainty among the people of the country about the elections. It is possible to hold elections before December. The roadmap should be focused on the government. '
The meeting was attended by Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, another member of the BNP standing committee Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu.
