Jamaat -e -Islami and Charmonai Pir, two influential leaders of the Islamic Movement, who opposed the War of Liberation in 1971, demanded local government elections before the next national election.

At a preparatory meeting held on Saturday (April 23), the Joint Secretary-General of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh and Dhaka Metropolitan South President Maulana Muhammad Imtiaz Alam said, “Local elections should be held before the national elections to verify EC's capacity.”

The influential leader mentioned, 'This demand is now most political parties. The people of the country will not tolerate any special benefit to a single party. '

The leader of the Islamic Movement said, “There was no mass uprising to the students to facilitate a particular party. Thousands of martyrs will not be happy if the blood and legs, legs, eyes are lost with the loses of the lost. '

Contextually, Jamaat, Islamic Movement and new parties of the students have been demanding NCP to give local government elections before the national elections.

The mainstream political parties of the country, including the BNP, have been seeking national elections before referring to voting rights. The Election Commission has also been informed that there are no plans for local elections.

However, a party inside the government wants to further post the time of national elections through the local government elections, the political parties of the country, including the BNP, have been making such allegations.
