The government did not say that the election will not be held in December: Nazrul Islam Khan

BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said there was not much difference between the BNP and the government's demand for national elections. The government did not say the election would not be held in December. “That's why we have said that the roadmap should be announced for a December date,” he said.

He said this after a meeting with the leaders of the Bangladesh Labor Party at the political office of the BNP chairperson in the capital on Monday (April 23).

Responding to a question to reporters, Nazrul Islam Khan said, “After the necessary reforms, we do not see the reason for the election program more than December. If anyone disagrees about this, then they have to argue – why more time is needed. The government says December to June. What does that mean? Then there may be elections in December. '

'We said that the elections will be held in December, it should be declared a road map. The government says elections will be held from December to June. That means they did not say that the December election would not be held. But we are saying that the road map will be announced for a date that will be elected in December. The difference is not too much. '

Nazrul Islam Khan said, “According to the government, elections may take place in December, it may be in January, may also be in February. So the government's difference with us is not many months. We are just telling the government, not saying so, it says so. '

Also present, Bangladesh Labor Party Chairman Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran, BNP standing committee member Selima Rahman.
