Some people consider themselves very popular. Considered the most patriotic. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that they are pushing the entire nation towards division and pushing it towards a darkness.
He said these things at a discussion meeting on the theme 'Fall of Dictatorship, Democratic Movement and Role of Medical Society in State Building' organized by Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Abdus Salam Hall of National Press Club on Wednesday (November 27).
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, no matter how much we talk, make speeches, try to unite the world, it does not happen. If division remains in my own house, division remains, I will never be able to fix it. We have been very worried for a few days, very worried terribly. You can imagine the madness that started in Bangladesh based on religion! We fought so long for free media, for press, to hold meetings, they are blowing it up. We do not want to see this Bangladesh. And what madness! And there are a number of people I cringe at on social media. Burn, burn, such is the talk going on there. Can you think where Bangladesh is taking?
Mirza Fakhrul said, what do we think where is our fear? Where do we understand our fear? What do we understand where the assailant is standing with a knife? don't understand If we understood, such irresponsible words would not have come out of our mouths. Unfortunately, some people consider themselves extremely popular. Considered the most patriotic. And today they are pushing the entire nation towards division, inciting it and pushing it towards a darkness. You will think deeply, I will not name anyone, I do not want to. Think coldly – those who want to disunite us, are they our enemies or allies?
He said, today on this 24 I have to shout for the right to vote. What race are we! Do you ever ask these words? This time an opportunity came, all of us together to bring a change in the country. The boys were in front, we were too. Together we can make a difference. It's not even three months yet, and already our true colors have come out. One can never achieve success with such a face.
Miza Fakhrul said that some young people of Bangladesh are giving their lives every time to establish voting rights. Its freedom is for democracy to regain the right to vote. Victory on August 5 through blood and soul, through blood-stained streets. Think once, how a person can selflessly give his life for the country. We see it again and again, giving life to the maternal pull.
Highlighting the recent situation in the country, he said that three months of the fall of dictatorship have not yet ended. How strange! One after another they are coming to the field with differences, everyone is setting fire to the newspaper office, did we want such a country, why so much division, why so much violence? How many times will I try to lift Bangladesh up?
Highlighting the events of two-three days in the country, he said, I know many of you also say many things to me, it is clear that I am a person in favor of liberal democracy, so is my party. You may have a different opinion, so why not let him speak?
Mirza Fakhrul strongly condemned and protested the attack on the newspaper office. He said, I have been fighting for democracy and freedom of expression for 15 years. I may disagree with you. But I will fight with my life for your freedom of speech.
BNP General Secretary said, “A fascist has strangled us, now you want to wipe him out, you want to catch him.” So what direction will ordinary people go? Why are you leading them astray? A society cannot be moved forward in this way.
Calling everyone to unite, Mirza Fakhrul said, no one should bow down to division. Let us fight unitedly to restore democracy, democracy.
DAB President Dr. Under the chairmanship of Haroon Al Rashid and general secretary Abdus Salam and senior joint secretary general Dr. Mehdi Hasan's moderator was also present at the meeting – BNP Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, member of the advisory council of the chairperson Amanullah Aman, professor Dr. Farhad Halim Donor, BNP health affairs Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam and others.
