“The ruling class, looting and corrupt classes still remain in the country, we have to go towards coup once again,” commented Faizul Hakim, editor of the National Liberation Council.
He said these things at a discussion on 'Spark to Fire: July Uprising' organized by the National Liberation Council at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Friday (November 15).
Faizul Hakim, pledging to continue the fight for the establishment of a democratic and accountable state, said that it is necessary to bring the justice of fascist Sheikh Hasina's henchmen and looters under justice. We have to establish people's power in Bangladesh. The thought of suppressing the people should be stopped. New Bangladesh should be built regardless of caste, religion and caste. A democratic constitution should be formulated to guarantee the rights of all and bring power to the people.
Demanding the trial of the fascist Sheikh Hasina of the interim government and the rehabilitation of the dead and injured families with financial support, he said, we are cooperating with the dead and injured families from all over the country including Dhaka and submitting the information to the July Foundation. I have offered to give land to these families in different districts.
This leader of the National Liberation Council also complained that there is no representative of the working people in the interim government. He said, if this government was formed on the strength of the people's uprising, then those who were killed in this struggle. Those who built resistance. Especially those who are poor people. Working people, hardworking people. They had a representation. But as we have seen, the interim government has been established here through the people's coup. But till now the working people are looking for their liberation.
'The interim revolutionary government was not formed on the strength of the popular uprising. As a result, Sheikh Hasina managed to escape. He has been allowed to escape', he also commented.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased's family demanded speedy trial of those involved in the July uprising of anti-discrimination students. At the same time, the relatives of those injured in the coup and the families of the martyrs demanded rehabilitation of the dead and injured along with the treatment of the injured.
Nasima Begum, mother-in-law of Hafizul Islam, who was killed in Badda during the movement, was present at the event. He said, 'I want justice for murder. It is difficult to carry on with my daughter and two grandsons. We are seeking help from the government.'
Kulsum Begum, mother of another youth killed in Badda, said in a tearful voice, “My son was shot like a bird on July 20.” I want justice for those who killed my son.
Amin's mother Selina Begum said, 'On July 21, my son was sleeping all day. He was shot just after leaving his house to go to market in the evening. Kajla's father saw her being taken from the hospital to Dhaka Medical in a rickshaw. My son's dream was to grow up to be a footballer. What was the crime of my son? Why did you kill him? Where can I find my son? Now no one says why are you crying so much mother? I have not seen my son for four months. I want justice for my son's murder from the government.'
Injured in Badda area during the movement. Mojahid said, I distributed water from noon to afternoon during the August 5 movement. In the afternoon, I saw the police firing from different buildings. A little girl was shot in the hand, I got shot while trying to save her. Then they shot me with a shotgun from the microbus. I still have 123 bullets in my body. The doctor said, if the bullet is taken out, I will not survive. I want it to be judged.'
President of Bangladesh Writers and Artists Association Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the July coup did not happen suddenly. The fascist Sheikh Hasina government of the last 15 years is an expression of looting, corruption and oppression. Sheikh Hasina has fled but her corrupt syndicate is still at large. If this syndicate is not broken, the liberation of the peasant workers will not be achieved. Liquidity will not come under control.
President of Bangladesh Student Federation Mitu Sarkar also gave a speech in the presence of anti-discrimination movement leader Deepa Mallik and the relatives of the dead and injured families.
