Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party has announced the election schedule for the Council and National Executive Council, including the National Council Session at Suhrawardy Udyan on December 28 and the election of party chairman on December 24 and 25.

Barrister Yobair Ahmad Bhuiyan, joint member secretary of AB party and head of internal election management committee, made this announcement at the press conference organized at the central office of the party in Vijaynagar of the capital.

In the press conference, the member secretary of the party, Mojibur Rahman Manju, said that although the party's journey started in 2020, it was not possible to organize the council of the party due to various reasons including torture, oppression, and active participation in the movement to overthrow the dictatorship of the fascist government.

He said, 'Now we have decided to hold our first National Council at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on December 28, Insha Allah.'

AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, one of the advisers of the party, said, “We did not get the opportunity to hold a council for the needs of the country during the time of the fallen dictatorial government. After the fall of the dictatorship, we will establish a worthy leadership of the party through a council in a festive atmosphere through a fair, impartial and transparent election, Insha Allah.

Announcing the election schedule, Barrister Yobair said, submission of nomination papers for the post of chairman from 7 to 12 December, verification of nomination papers on 13 December, withdrawal of candidature on 18 December, publication of final candidate list on 19 December, voting on 24-25 December and counting of votes and results will be announced on 28 December. .

Announcing the schedule for National Executive Council (NEC) elections, he said, submission of nomination papers on December 5-10, scrutiny on December 11-12, withdrawal of candidature on December 13, publication of the final list of candidates on December 14, voting on December 19-20 and declaration of results on December 21. will be done Announcing the general secretary election schedule, he said, nomination papers will be submitted on December 22, withdrawn on December 24, voting will be held on December 26 and the results will be announced on December 28.

Also present at the press conference was the convener of the party, Professor Dr. Major (Retd.) Abdul Wahab Minar, Joint Convener Lieut. Colonel (Retd.) Didarul Alam, Lieut. Colonel (Retd.) Helal Uddin, member of Internal Election Conduct Committee Advocate Abdullah Al Mamun Rana and one of the Election Commissioner Justice Aktarul Alam among the central leaders.
