Mirza Fakhrul expresses relief at Tariq Rahman's acquittal

Party Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed relief that BNP's Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman and all the accused have been acquitted by the High Court in the August 21 grenade attack case. In a statement from London, he said, “I am grateful to God Almighty.”

BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said this statement given from London at 3:30 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday (December 1).

Earlier, the High Court bench comprising of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain announced the verdict acquitting all the accused after canceling the judgment of the judicial court.

BNP Secretary General said, 'This verdict proves that the Awami fascist government accused Tariq Rahman in this case with political motives.'

He said, “He has been acquitted by the High Court after dealing legally with the charges brought against Tarek Rahman.”

Mirza Fakhrul said, “Through the historic judgment, it has been proved once again that all the cases filed against Tariq Rahman were political conspiracies.”

BNP General Secretary expressed his gratitude for this verdict and called upon the party leaders and workers from all over the country to give thanks and pray to Almighty Allah.
