If everything goes well, former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will leave for London tomorrow at 10 pm. Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hammad Al Thani is sending the air ambulance to carry Khaleda Zia. The air ambulance is scheduled to reach Dhaka on Monday evening.
BNP Standing Committee member and Khaleda Zia's personal physician AZM Zahid Hossain said this at a press conference at the party's office in Gulshan in the capital on Monday.
Dr. Zahid Hossain said that after reaching the airport in London, he will be taken directly to the hospital. After that, the next course of action regarding his treatment will be decided.
Zahid Hossain said, 'All preparations to take the BNP Chairperson abroad have been completed. If all goes well, he will leave for London by Qatar Air-Ambulance at 10pm on Tuesday.'
He also said, 'After reaching London, acting chairman of BNP and his son Tariq Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman will welcome him. They will take him to an old hospital called London Hospital and admit him. After that, the doctors there will advise about the further treatment after the examination. Based on that advice, Khaleda Zia's next treatment will begin.'
Meanwhile, Zahid also said that the special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar to carry Khaleda Zia is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:30 this Monday evening.
Khaleda Zia said that 6 doctors of the medical board and many others including their officials are going. Zahid Hossain.
When asked whether Khaleda Zia will perform Umrah, Zahid Hossain said, 'There is no such decision that Umrah must be performed. If he is physically fit, he will perform Umrah.'
