The Jatiya Party has called a rally on Saturday (November 2) in connection with the withdrawal of cases against the party's chairman-general secretary, control of commodity prices and arson at the party office. However, Bin Yamin Mollah, president of Bangladesh Student Rights Council, has warned that this rally will not be allowed. He said, 'Letting the National Party hold a rally on Saturday is another plot to rehabilitate the Awami League.'
He said this at a press conference under the banner of 'anti-fascist students, workers, people' at Dhaka University's TSC on Friday (November 1). At the press conference, they demanded the arrest of Jatiya Party leaders.
In the press conference, Bin Yamin Molla said that yesterday the cadre force of Awami League had gathered at Jatiya Party office as planned. As soon as we reached Kakrail they ambushed us. As you have heard, Jatiya Party has announced the rally tomorrow. We have news that they will bring the Awami League cadre forces from different parts of the country to rally. Again and again we issue ultimatums to ban the allies of fascism. They are trying to come back in different forms. We want to know what is the position of the present government towards them. We want to know how the DMP Commissioner allowed these killers to rally their friends.'
Student leader Moshiur Rahman alleged that the Jatiya Party and Awami League jointly attacked the torch marchers on Thursday. He said, 'Jatiya Party and Awami League attacked us yesterday. My hand is still bandaged. They will rally again tomorrow. Has it got a mug mug? They will attack and rally again!'
Claiming that the burning of Jatiya Party's office has nothing to do with the student-labour crowd, he said, 'It was the angry crowd that burnt their office as a result of their activities.'
