The Jamaat -e -Islami President has demanded the interim government to give the legal basis of the national charter through the Presidential Procedure (Presidency Proclamation).
The party thinks the legal basis can also be given a legal basis through referendum as an alternative.
The Executive Committee at the party’s central office in Dhaka reviewed the draft July Charter sent by the National Unity Commission at a three -hour emergency meeting at the party’s central office in Dhaka on Tuesday (August 8th). The party’s notice then demanded the way to give the legal basis to the Charter.
At the same time, the party demanded the implementation of the legal basis of the National Charter in order to overcome the path of democracy and the next Jatiya Sangsad election.
A party leader said some parties could object to the referendum before the national elections. Because of this, the claim has been raised from the consideration that the President’s Declaration could be easier to give legal basis.
At the meeting, it was decided to discuss some issues of the Charter in detail with the consensus commission.
The meeting was chaired by the party’s deputy professor Mujibur Rahman, the other two Naib Amir Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and Anam Shamsul Islam, Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General ATM Md. Members Abdur Rab, Saiful Alam Khan Milan, Motiur Rahman Akand, Shahabuddin, Izzat Ullah, Mubarak Hossain and Md Selim Uddin were present.
