BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's statement regarding Jamaat-e-Islami has been protested by the party. They said, Jamaat has never done politics of hunting fish in muddy waters.
Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan said this in a statement sent by Mujibul Alam of the Central Propaganda Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday evening.
In an event today, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said without mentioning the name of any party, 'We have seen Chapati League, Helmet League, Gun League during Hasina's tenure. Again, the people also know that Khurlig, the party that cuts the leg veins. People do not know who they are? People know who cuts the leg veins.'
In view of this, Jamaat leader Rafiqul Islam Khan said in a statement that Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's statement about Jamaat-e-Islami is misleading, baseless and politically motivated.
Rafiqul Islam also said, 'Such statements are being propagated for the past few decades. Bloodshed, fishing in murky water, opposition to 1971—these statements have long been rejected by the people. It is not clear to the people what Rizvi wants to achieve by uttering these words against the Jamaat.
