BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said it would not be desirable to divide the united nation with this statement against independence. He said, ‘All the people of the country were in favor of independence. Among those whom we want to divide against independence, we have not seen any public mentality to deny that freedom after the independence of the country. Those who may not accept the independence of the country may have some different thoughts. ‘
He said this while addressing the chief guest at a roundtable on Saturday at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital. CHT Research Foundation, the Chittagong Hill Tracts Research Agency, organized the meeting titled ‘Indigenous, small ethnic group context and national security thoughts’ in the context of Bangladesh.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “I see the mentality of dividing this nation for various political purposes. Here the division between us as the party of independence has been created even after 5 years of independence. We have to come out of the place that has been made in the spirit of the War of Liberation, politicized, politically trade, and the division that has been created to sell consciousness. ‘
The leader of the BNP said, “All the people of Bangladesh have held the War of Liberation. Although not everyone was in the war in the War of Liberation, all the people of the country were in favor of the liberation war mentally. Among those whom we want to divide against independence, we have not seen any public mentality to deny that freedom after the independence of the country. Those who may not accept the independence of the country may have some different thoughts. But in such a courage, no one has shown that there is a divided statement to deny freedom. So far we have not seen. ‘
Security analyst Major General (retd) Naeem Ashfaq Chowdhury presented the keynote paper at the meeting.
BNP Chairperson’s Defense Advisor Major General (Retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar, Jamaat -e -Islami Naeb Amir Shahjahan Chowdhury, AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman, Chairman of the CHT Research Foundation, Mehdi Hasan, presided over the meeting.
