BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir strongly condemned the attack by some extremists on the premises of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh located in North Agartala, India. Along with that, he is also assuming that this attack is pre-planned.
Mirza Fakhrul said, 'The attack on the premises of the Assistant High Commission by the members of the organization called Hindu Slash Samiti is believed to be pre-planned. Entering the High Commission and taking down the Bangladeshi flag, setting it on fire and vandalizing it is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.
BNP Secretary General said these things in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul, who is currently in the UK, said, “We would request the Indian government and the Indian people that using hatred in Bangladesh as a strategy for your internal politics will create lasting tension between the two countries.”
He said, 'We hope that Indians will respect the democratic aspirations of the citizens of new Bangladesh and help the trial by returning the leaders of the previous fascist Awami regime who are staying in India.'
