If the leaders and workers of Awami League want to get better, then all the cooperation will be there, said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central vice-emir and former member of parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher.
He said this in the chief guest's speech at the municipal Jamaat workers' meeting at Najmiya Kamil Madrasa ground in Comilla's Chouddagram on Friday evening.
Dr. Md. Taher said, 'If you get better, then we will have all the support. And if he tries to become a dictator again, the result will not be good.'
Addressing the Jamaat leaders and workers, he said, 'Conspiracy is still going on against the country. That conspiracy must be stopped. The friends of dictatorship are still getting there.'
Stating that Jamaat wants to establish a welfare state, Central Naib Amir said, “There will be no exploitation, deprivation and revenge in the state.” Everyone will be given that right in the light of the constitution. Pakistan was liberated from the British in 1947. That freedom did not last. In 1971, we received the red green flag in exchange for the honor of our mothers and sisters and fresh blood of countless people through the bloody war. We could not enjoy this freedom to the fullest. Exploitation and looting began. After 54 long years of independence, we got August 5 through another war. To maintain this August 5, welfare state must be established. All discrimination, looting and revenge should be eliminated. If we fail in this, then the blood of the martyrs of August 5 will be dishonoured.'
Dr. Taher said to Sheikh Hasina, 'She is now in India. However, he does not say where he is. In the meantime, he has once again started a conspiracy against the country. Sitting there, making statements against the country. If you (Sheikh Hasina) are law-abiding, then come back to the country and surrender to the court as you left the country secretly. The court will judge all your rights and wrongs.'
