High Court verdict in grenade attack case reflects justice: BNP

BNP has expressed satisfaction with the verdict of the High Court in the August 21 grenade attack case. The party feels that justice has been reflected through this verdict.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi expressed his satisfaction at the press conference held at the party's central office in Nayapaltan in the capital after the High Court verdict was announced on Sunday (December 1).

He said that justice has been established in the High Court verdict in the August 21 grenade attack case. Justice in this case was not done during the Awami League period. Its big proof is that the day Awami League brought Kahar Akand and appointed an investigator, it was understood that the government has an evil attitude.

He also said that Awami League will use the power of the state to punish Tariq Rahman and other leaders of BNP by force – this was their intention. I would say that justice has been done today, the High Court has done justice. Rizvi also mentioned that the long struggle for justice has been reflected today.

Earlier, at around 11 am, the High Court acquitted all the accused, including BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the August 21 grenade attack case, and Lutfuzzaman Babar, who was sentenced to death. The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain announced the judgment by canceling the judgment of the judicial court.
