The first target of Fascism-Nazism is mass media and journalists. Dictators can never accept this fourth pillar, commented BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
He said these things at the annual general meeting of Dhaka Journalist Union (DUJ) on Monday (November 25) at the Jatiya Press Club premises.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, Dictators can never accept this fourth pillar so they push here first. Many journalists have been fired. Many newspapers and television have closed. And they have closed them, so that their information is not leaked if they (Awami League) illegally-injustice-corruption-launder money abroad. In every sector, every place has the treasure of Sheikh Hasina's loot. If the interim government can give the right drive, we will find this treasure. The people of the country will know the search for Sheikh Hasina's treasure.
He said, I used to think that the press club was a place of shelter for people who wanted democracy. The press club has always been a refuge for those who spoke for justice and stood up against the oppression of the government. Gradually, the grip of fascism spread everywhere starting from the union – then even the press club could not escape from that grip. Our party secretary general was arrested from this press club. A senior journalist Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was behind his detention. The despicable act he did, seems to have called the police and handed him over to the Secretary General. But many journalists were on the path of justice. He was in favor of democratic people.
This spokesperson of BNP said, I saw on the television talk show when the student movement was at its peak, Shyamal Dutt said, they (students) are going in the wrong direction. They are leading them in the wrong direction with money. Can they be civilized people who have tried to pollute the righteous movement of the people and the blood bath of little children with such lies?
This BNP leader said, there were many televisions and newspapers in the country. But Sheikh Hasina gave Bakshal a new form that will have everything, but only one will speak and only one will be preached. This was Sheikh Hasina's main goal and she acted accordingly. He (Sheikh Hasina) has established Bakshal in 75 in a new form.
