Political emancipation is accountability to the people. Whatever one wishes, it will not happen. Be it government party, opposition party, MP, minister, it has to be answered to the people. To ensure this, the right to vote must be established.' Accountability is created through voting, said the Acting Chairman of BNP.
Regarding employment, Tariq Rahman said, 'There are more than one crore unemployed people in the country. We have the opportunity to create new sectors beyond garments and remittances. I try, but I can't do it fast enough. I will be able to reduce the problem to a large extent. It won't all happen overnight. Let's move forward a little bit from everyone's position. If everyone tries, inshallah, we will be able to do something good.'
