Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman urged the interim government to control the chaotic situation of the country with a strong hand.
He made this call in a statement given on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday.
Tariq Rahman said, 'Control the situation with a strong hand. People can become impatient if the government fails to demonstrate efficiency. The minions of the fugitive dictatorship are waiting for the people to become intolerant.'
Without mentioning the name of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, this leader of BNP said, “The friends of the fugitive dictatorship who have lost illegal power and illegal benefits are using the people's demand movement as a shield to destabilize the government, and have engaged in anarchy by mixing with the agitators to create an anarchic situation in the country.”
Pointing out that there is no scope to see the incidents that have happened in different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka in the last few days as isolated incidents, he said that recently the inactivity of those who destroy state stability has become alarming.
Tariq Rahman said, the students who played a brave role in the street movement against the mafia government, suddenly why did they become so vengeful against each other? This is the question that has emerged in the public mind. After such a successful mass uprising of the students, why would the students vandalize the classrooms? Why set fire? There is no opportunity to see these events normally.
Urging the law and order forces to increase monitoring of the situation, he said that if someone is 'sabotaging' the people's rational movement, the law and order forces should investigate it closely.
The Acting Chairman of BNP said that the government should also look into this matter deeply whether the ousted autocracy has indulged in mischievous attempts to create a communal situation in the country.
He also urged the forces of Bangladesh to remain united to deal with the ongoing situation.
Tariq Rahman said that the government's first and foremost priority should be to 'determine what should be done' to reduce the daily suffering of the people. The interim government needs to remember that crores of families in the country are having to compromise their means and means every day due to the current market situation. It is not unusual for many to prioritize 'family over reform' in such dire circumstances to meet family expenses.
The BNP leader feels that conspirators can take the opportunity to use this sensitive issue to destabilize the government if the price of daily necessities cannot be brought within the purchasing power of the people by controlling the market.
Tariq also urged the government to take urgent steps to ensure political and economic empowerment of the people.
Urging the government to trust the people and to remain in the people's confidence, he said that the government should show prudence so that no action or word of the government should cause a crack in the unity of the students.
He urged everyone to be especially careful so that the anti-interested evil forces and fugitive dictatorships using the people's movement as a shield could not derail the objective of the mass upheaval.
The current situation of the country is to give some time to the government and show some patience, he said, stay calm. Be alert and aware of the situation.
Tariq Rahman also warned that the people will have to pay a heavy price if they fail to overcome the obstacles of the conspirators in the journey of establishing democracy.
