The cocktail explosion took place in front of the temporary central office of the Jatiya Citizens Party (NCP) in Banglamot in the capital. The incident was reported at around 7:30 pm on Monday (June 23). Mushfiq Us Salehin, joint member secretary of the party, confirmed the matter.
The party leaders and activists alleged that the incident happened yesterday.
Senior joint convener of the party Ariful Islam Adib told the newspaper in this regard that the general public's interest in the party has increased in the registration issue of NCP. People have started coming to the NCP office, so the explosion was made to create fear and panic among the common people.
The party organized an immediate protest program at 12pm from the temporary central office of Banglamotor to protest the cocktail explosion.
The party claimed three people were injured in the cocktail explosion. The injured were Dhaka Metropolitan Leader Asif Uddin Emperor, Youth Power Organizer Abdur Robb and Shafiqul Islam of Workers Wing.
Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division (DC) of the DMP Masud Alam told today's newspaper that an explosion occurred in front of the Implement Tower. We had a team of police near the scene. They went to the scene. However, it is not certain whether it is a cocktail, or something petal. NCP member secretary Akhtar Hossain was targeted whether it was thrown and who did it, it would be collected after seeing CCTV footage in the neighborhood. Legal action will be identified by identifying those involved in the incident.
