BNP leader Shamim played showdown


Mahbub Rahman Shamim, Central Organizing Secretary of Chittagong Division of BNP, has been given a show cause notice for disobeying the party instructions and conducting a motorbike showdown.

A show cause notice was given to Shamim in a letter signed by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP last Tuesday night. This information has been confirmed from the central office of BNP.

Shamim has been asked to explain the allegations within 48 hours of receiving the letter. If the explanation is not satisfactory, disciplinary action may be taken, sources said.

Last Monday, there was a showdown with thousands of motorbikes in Noakhali's Hatia. Shamim led this showdown before the public meeting on the initiative of Upazila BNP to demand speedy parliamentary elections. As a result, severe traffic jams are created on Hatiyar roads, common people suffer.

However, BNP has given instructions centrally not to hold such meetings and motorcycle processions.

BNP Chairperson's advisor Barrister Mahabub Uddin Khokon has already been condemned for the showdown despite the ban.

Earlier on September 20 last year, Khulna District Koira Upazila BNP Member Secretary Nurul Amin Babul, Noakhali Hatia Upazila BNP General Secretary Tanveer Uddin Rajib and Natore District BNP Joint Convenor and Singra Upazila BNP Member Secretary Daudar Mahmud were expelled from all levels including primary membership of BNP. .
