Awami League protested against the High Court's verdict in the August 21 grenade attack


Awami League's joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif condemned and protested the acquittal of all the accused who were sentenced to death and sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of murder and Explosives Act on August 21. Criticizing the verdict, Mahbubul Alam Hanif said, 'Dr. We saw the proper functioning of Yunus's reset button with today's ruling. He wants us to forget everything. In continuation of that, this attempt to completely erase events like the infernal murder of August 21.'

He said, 'The High Court acquitted all the accused who were sentenced to death and sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of murder and Explosives Act in connection with the August 21 grenade attack. What did it prove? Did nothing happen in the country on August 21?'

Hanif said, 'Arges grenades brought from Pakistan fell from the sky on the assembly ground of Awami League? 24 people were killed, 500 people were injured already?'

Claiming that the ruling has proved that the government has held the entire judicial system hostage, the joint general secretary of Awami League said, 'The culture of lawlessness that has been introduced in the country by mob killings in the name of mob justice will have to be paid soon.'

He said, 'Mufti Abdul Hannan, the leader of Harkatul Jihad, was arrested in November 2008. Hanif also said, 'It is mentioned in the deposition that Pintu was first contacted through Maulana Tajuddin, the brother of Abdul Salam Pintu, deputy minister of the BNP government. Then through him they went to the then Minister of State for Home Lutfuzzaman Babar. Lutfuzzaman Babar and Comilla's then Member of Parliament Kaykobad along with them went to Hawa Bhavan.'
