The Chhatra Dal has denied responsibility for the debate with the vice-chancellor of Dhaka University and the attack on the leader of the People's Rights Council Farooq Hasan. On behalf of the organization, it has been said that in these two incidents and many other incidents, some media reported the news without any kind of verification. Kuchkri has indulged in propaganda against Chhatra Dal.
This was stated in a statement signed by Mallik Wasi Uddin Tami, office secretary of Chhatra Dal DU branch on Saturday (January 4).
DU branch held a protest march at Dhaka University campus at 8 pm on Saturday night to protest the continuous propaganda against Chhatra Dal.
The procession started from Das Chatter adjacent to TSC on the campus and passed through VC Chatter in front of the Raju sculpture and ended with a short rally.
Chhatra Dal, Dhaka University President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas and General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon also addressed the protest rally, Senior Vice President Md. Masum Billah, President Anisur Rahman Khandaker Anik, Senior Joint General Secretary. Nasir Uddin Shawon and organizational secretary. Noor Alam Bhuiyan Iman.
The speakers said that Chhatra Dal has contributed the most in terms of leadership and self-sacrifice in the fallen Awami anti-fascist movement. Because of this, hundreds of Chhatra Dal leaders and activists have been victims of disappearances and murders during the last 15 years of fascist rule. However, in the post-coup period, some media outlets are reporting without verification on various issues, including the recent Daksu elections, students' conversation with the vice-chancellor and proctor in the Senate building, and the attack on the leader of the People's Rights Council Farooq Hasan in the Central Shaheed Minar, in the name of the leaders and workers of the Chhatra Dal. Based on them, a nefarious group has continuously indulged in the conspiracy of baseless, false and fabricated rumors and propaganda.
The speakers demanded speedy trial of those who spread these slanders and rumours. They said that if anyone demands a single lease of mass uprising, it will not be accepted. The struggle for the right to vote of the people of Bangladesh will continue by resisting the combined mob culture of the defeated forces of 1971 and the defeated forces of 2024.
