The leaders of the Left Democratic Alliance said that all political crises including border killing, water distribution with India should be resolved on the basis of justice and rights. Otherwise, there will be permanent enmity between India and Bangladesh, said the leaders of the alliance.
They said these things in a rally and protest march organized by the Left Democratic Alliance in front of the press club on Wednesday (December 4) to demand punishment for the attack on the Bangladesh embassy in India and those who insulted the national flag and to protect the unity and communal harmony of the people of both countries.
Ruhin Hossain Prince, general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) said in the rally, “What happened in Agartala falls under any diplomatic etiquette?” It is 100 percent responsibility of the government to protect the embassy of another country in one country. They (India) have failed.' He demanded immediate and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators of the Agartala incident.
He said, 'We have had many problems with India for a long time. By killing the border, India said miscreants did it. And the previous government of our country used to speak in their tone. They (India) have unequal trade with us. In Sundarbans they have done Rampal Project in the name of Friendship Company. If the companies that are being done in the name of friendship continue, we will have permanent enmity with India.'
He also said, 'The water source of 54 rivers of our country is in India. Why do we still not get water? Why is the Teesta problem not solved? Why do we cry for water? Why are these problems not solved? There are numerous issues hanging over India. All issues should be resolved on the basis of justice and rights.'
Addressing Mamata Banerjee, General Secretary of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BASD) Comrade Bajlur Rashid Feroze said, 'You have talked about sending peace troops to Bangladesh. We strongly condemn and protest this incident. I demand immediate withdrawal of this statement.'
Professor Abdus Sattar, a member of the central editorial board of the Revolutionary Communist League, said, 'Sectarians have been ruining the media recently with fake, false and planned information in Indian newspapers and media. This fiction will not last.'
General Secretary of Democratic Revolutionary Party Moshrafa Mishu and others also addressed the rally under the chairmanship of BAS (Marxist) Coordinator Masud Rana. After the rally, the leaders and workers of the Left Democratic Alliance held a demonstration.
